A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him.
In all adversities there is always in its depth, a treasure of spiritual blessings secretly hidden.
`Moksha' is not `Freedom from Action' but, `Freedom in Action'.
To give love is true freedom; To demand love is pure slavery.
The success is not in the trophy won but in the race run
The secret of action is to get established in equanimity, renouncing all egocentric attachments, and forgetting to worry over our successes and failures.
Character is formed from the repeated choice of thoughts and action. Make the right choice - You shall have a firm and noble character.
There is no destiny beyond and above ourselves; we are ourselves the architects of our future.
Without devotion, knowledge is tasteless. Without knowledge, devotion is mere empty idol worship.
Bhakti is the attitude of the mind, and jnana is the attitude of the intellect, both flow towards the Lord.
Silently hear everyone. Accept what is good. Reject and forget what is not. This is intelligent living.
Prosperity is like wine, which goes to the head, and makes man forget his Creator.
Spirituality is neither the privilege of the poor nor the luxury of the rich. It is the choice of the wise man.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya - Education With A Difference

Jnanam eva vishisyate - Knowledge surpasses everything

"Education sans religion and philosophy is but a technical training that may bring out trained hands, but not educated men, who alone can count in the rediscovery of a nation"
Swami Chinmayananda

Under the principalship of Swami Prakashananda, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, the high school of the Chinmaya Mission, offers a blend of academic, spiritual and cultural education.

Spiritual and Cultural Activities

  • Daily religious service
  • Vedic chanting
  • Chanting and study of Bhagavad Gita
  • Vocal training
  • Playing Musical Instruments

  • Public speaking and debating
  • Charitable work

To complement the regular curriculum, Chinmaya Mission has developed the Chinmaya Vision Program (CVP) which fosters the development of truly educated, balanced and fulfilled individuals. CVP aims at giving the future citizens of Trinidad and Tobago a true vision of life to help them face challenges in a positive and dynamic manner, and heartily contribute to society.

Adopted from our Vidyalayas in India, the Chinmaya Vision Program can be identified under four heads below:

  1. Integrated development of the child
To develop the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual personalities of children in a balanced and concerted manner.

  2. Culture
To give children a wide exposure to the various aspects of our rich culture.

  3. Patriotism
To create dedicated and committed citizens who take pride in serving the country

  4. Universal Outlook
To make children appreciative of, and sensitive to, world issues and the environment.
