A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him.
In all adversities there is always in its depth, a treasure of spiritual blessings secretly hidden.
`Moksha' is not `Freedom from Action' but, `Freedom in Action'.
To give love is true freedom; To demand love is pure slavery.
The success is not in the trophy won but in the race run
The secret of action is to get established in equanimity, renouncing all egocentric attachments, and forgetting to worry over our successes and failures.
Character is formed from the repeated choice of thoughts and action. Make the right choice - You shall have a firm and noble character.
There is no destiny beyond and above ourselves; we are ourselves the architects of our future.
Without devotion, knowledge is tasteless. Without knowledge, devotion is mere empty idol worship.
Bhakti is the attitude of the mind, and jnana is the attitude of the intellect, both flow towards the Lord.
Silently hear everyone. Accept what is good. Reject and forget what is not. This is intelligent living.
Prosperity is like wine, which goes to the head, and makes man forget his Creator.
Spirituality is neither the privilege of the poor nor the luxury of the rich. It is the choice of the wise man.

CHYK West Organizational Retreat 2012

Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas

CHYK West, along with the guidance of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda functions as the guiding body of the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra or youth wing chapters across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

With the onset of 2012, youth representatives gathered at Chinmaya Saaket, Dallas/Fort Worth to strategize the operations of the body for the new year, to address the common challenges faced by centres and inevitably to inspire workers to continue the mighty vision of Pujya Gurudev.

The one-day retreat included sharing of goals, descriptions of local situations, brainstorming solutions and sharing new ideas for Chyk activities in the Dragon's Den! Noteworthy is the role of the Dragon played by Swami Sarveshanandaji, National Director of the Chyk West and an invaluable component of the machinery.

Many left the retreat with a wealth of guiding principles supported by the Chyk West body through its newly established Chyk Manual. This resource answers many questions on how Chyk centres can be established and managed in order to best achieve the goal of harnessing youth potential through dynamic spirituality.

Consider Chyk....don't be a chicken!
